Here's what everything means in this typical course listing:

  1. STAR reference number for telephone registration. See Using Star Telephone Registration and Telephone Registration Worksheet..
  2. Course description abbreviation, preceded by the name of course.
  3. Four-digit numbers identify the courses. The first digit other than zero designates the level of the course. A "1" means the course is of freshman rank; a "2" designates courses of sophomore rank; a "3" and higher designate upper-level courses. The second digit represents the number of semester hour credits for the course.
  4. The section number of the course.
  5. The time of day the course is offered.
  6. The day of the week the course meets. Mon: Monday, Tue: Tuesday, Wed: Wednesday, Th: Thursday, Fri: Friday, Sat: Saturday, M-F: Monday through Friday. Other combinations such as M-Th may be listed.
  7. The location of the course, with building and room number.
  8. The instructor’s name. If the instructor is undetermined at deadline for this publication, the word "Staff" will be listed.
