UTB/TSC Jazz Band Wows Judges, Wins Top Honors at North Colorado Jazz Festival

The UTB/TSC One'Clock Jazz Band received the highest award at the

University of Northern Colorado's Jazz Festival in Greeley, Colorado.

More than 100 jazz bands in the country competed in the festival, which is considered one the best in the country. 

Also taking top honors were Noe Sanchez, Outstanding Soloist and Jimmy Cantu, Outstanding Rhythm Soloist award and Outstanding Director, Terry Tomlin The band wowed the judges, some of which are tops in their field.

Some of the comments about the UTB/TSC Jazz Band..."Wonderful, absolute pure pleasure, lots of energy, the solos had great emotional content, great pitch, great style, this is one really great band".

 The festival is in its thirtieth year, and brings together outstanding guest artists, clinicians and more than 4,500 college, high school and junior high participants making up more than 250 vocal jazz ensembles, big bands and jazz combos. The jazz studies program at UNC is ranked as one of the top five jazz studies programs in the nation.
