25 -- School of Health Sciences Open House, 5 p.m., Life and Health Sciences Building. All programs will be giving tours, presentations, and highlights of accomplishments. There will be mariachis, dancers, food and opportunities to network with other health professionals. The public is invited.

27 -- 40th Anniversary of Nursing Program, Wine & Cheese Reception, LHSB Courtyard, 7 p.m. For information, call  882-5073.

28 -- UTB/TSC’s 7th 5K & 1-Mile Run/Walk, starting at Gym Annex, 7:30 (one mile), and 8:00 a.m. (5K); Open to the public. More than 300 youth, 100 adults and 100 volunteers are expected.

19 -- Aniversario de Familia, Education and Business Complex Resaca Lawn, 2-5 p.m. All employees and their families are invited to celebrate as a family the Coming of Age Anniversary Celebration.  A variety of games for the children along with many prizes will be available along with games for the adults. Come play loteria, join the karaoke, or watch televised football.  Good food and good friends are expected for this special day.

5 -- Diamonds Among Us, Science, Engineering and Technology Building Lecture Hall, 6:00 p.m. The is the first of two events in which a special group of UTB/TSC friends will be recognized for their contributions and support.  Nominations will be accepted through October 13, 2006.  The evening event is beautifully planned gala in celebration of the honorees followed by a reception. The public is invited.
