Piper Sept. 20-Oct. 3 Publicity for nominations for the Piper Professor Award.
   
Dev. Leave Sep. 24 The faculty member submits request for Faculty Development Leave for the next Fiscal Year to the Department Chair.
   
Post-Tenure Sep. 25 The Dean submits a list of those tenured faculty (notified in April) who are up for Periodic Comprehensive Performance Evaluation, to the Department Chair and the Chair of the Department Personnel Committee.
   
Chancellor's Sep. 25 – Oct. 25 Publicity for nominations for the Chancellor's Council Outstanding Teaching Excellence Award.
   
Piper Oct. 4 Nominations for the Piper Professor Award due to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
   
T/P/CM Oct. 8 The faculty member submits to the Department Chair requested personnel actions and appropriate supporting materials for Tenure, Promotion, and Exceptional Merit.
   
Piper Oct. 8 Nominees for the Piper Professor Award are notified and sent a Nomination Form.
   
Renewal: 2nd Yr. Fac. Oct. 11 Department Personnel Committee  & Department Chair make recommendations regarding the Renewal of Second Year Probationary Faculty.
   
Post-Tenure Oct. 16 The faculty member submits to the Department Chair appropriate supporting materials for Periodic Comprehensive Performance Evaluation.
   
Piper Oct. 22 Piper Professor Award Nominees submit completed Nomination Form and required supporting materials to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
   
Piper Oct. 24 The Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs annually will convene the Piper Professor Award Committee, give the charge, and the Committee will elect a chair.
   
Renewal: 2nd Yr. Fac. Oct. 25 The College/School Personnel Committee makes recommendations regarding the Renewal of Second Year Probationary Faculty.
   
Chancellor's Oct. 26 Nominations for the Chancellor's Council Outstanding Teaching Excellence Award due to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
   
Dev. Leave Oct. 29 The Department Personnel Committee and the Department Chair make recommendations regarding Faculty Development Leave requests.
   
Chancellor's Nov. 2 Nominees for the Chancellor's Council Outstanding Teaching Excellence Award are notified and sent a Nomination Acceptance Form.
   
T/P/CM Nov. 6 The Department Personnel Committee and Department Chair make independent recommendations regarding Tenure, Promotion, and Exceptional Merit, and forward them to the Dean to be placed in the Portfolio(s).
   
Innovations Nov. 6 - 19 Publicity for nominations for the Chancellor’s Council Innovations in Education Award.
   
Piper Nov. 6 The Piper Professor Award Committee will make a recommendation for the Award nominee to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Innovations Nov. 20 Nominations for Chancellor's Council Innovations in Education Award are due to Vice President for Academic Affairs.
   
Chancellor's Nov. 20 Chancellor's Council Outstanding Teaching Excellence Award Nominees accept or decline nomination. By accepting, the Nominee agrees to submit a portfolio.
   
Piper Nov. 20 The President sends recommendation for Piper Professor Award nominee to Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation.  Awards will be announced in May.
   
Dev. Leave Nov. 26 Deans make recommendations to the VPAA regarding Faculty Development Leave requests.
   
Innovations Nov. 27 Nominees for the Chancellor’s Council Innovations in Education Award are notified and sent a Nomination Acceptance Form.

T/P/CM Jan. 22 The Deans make recommendations regarding Tenure, Promotion, and Exceptional Merit and forward the Portfolio(s) with all recommendations to the VPAA.
   
Innovations Jan. 23 The Vice President for Academic Affairs will make a recommendation for Chancellor’s Council Innovations in Education Award nominee to the President.
   
Chancellor's Jan. 28 Portfolios for Chancellor's Council Teaching Excellence Award are due to the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
   
Renewal: 1st Yr. Fac. Jan. 30 The VPAA makes recommendations to the President regarding the Renewal of First Year Probationary Faculty. 
   
Innovations Jan. 31 The President sends recommendation for Chancellor’s Council Outstanding Innovations in Education Award nominee to Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.  Awards announced in April and winners introduced at the Chancellor’s Council Spring meeting.
   
Chancellor's Jan. 31 The Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs annually will convene the Chancellor’s Council Outstanding Teaching Excellence Award Committee, gives the charge, and the Committee will elect a chair.
   
Post-Tenure Feb. 5 The Deans make recommendations regarding Periodic Comprehensive Performance Evaluation and forward the Portfolio(s) with all recommendations to the VPAA.
   
CASE Feb. 6 Nominations for the CASE U.S. Professor of the Year Award are due to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
   
CASE Feb. 8 Nominees for the CASE U.S. Professor of the Year Award are Notified and sent a Nomination Acceptance form.
   
T/P/CM Feb. 18 The VPAA makes recommendations to the Provost regarding Tenure, Promotion, and Exceptional Merit. 
   
CASE Feb. 18 CASE U.S. Professor of the Year Award Nominees accept or decline nomination. By accepting, the nominee agrees to submit required supporting materials.
   
Renewal: 1st Yr. Fac. Feb. 25 First Year Probationary Faculty are Notified of Renewal.
   
Chancellor's Feb. 25 The Chancellor's Council Outstanding Teaching Excellence Award Committee will make a recommendation for  Award recipient to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
   
Renewal: 3rd-Final Yr. Fac. Feb. 27 The Department Personnel Committee and the Department Chair make recommendations regarding the Renewal of Third through Final Year Probationary Faculty.
   
Chancellor's Mar. 3 The Vice President for Academic Affairs will make a recommendation for Chancellor's Council Outstanding Teaching Excellence Award recipient to the President.
   
T/P/CM Mar. 3 Provost forwards recommendations regarding Tenure, Promotion, and Exceptional Merit to the VPAA.
   
T/P/CM Mar. 6 The VPAA forwards complete recommendation packet to the President regarding Tenure, Promotion, and Exceptional Merit.
   
Post-Tenure Mar. 6 The VPAA makes recommendations to the President regarding Periodic Comprehensive Performance Evaluation.
   
Chancellor's Mar. 11 The President announces the recommendation for Chancellor's Council Outstanding Teaching Excellence Award recipient and notifies nominees of the decision.
   
Post-Tenure Mar. 12 The Dean will submit a list of those tenured faculty who are due for Periodic Comprehensive Performance Evaluation during the next school year and a list of any additional materials required for submission as part of the review to the VPAA. 
   
Renewal: 3rd-Final Yr. Fac. Mar. 13 The College/School Personnel Committee makes recommendations regarding the Renewal of Third through Final Year Probationary Faculty.
   
CASE Mar. 13 Supporting materials for the CASE Award are due to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
   
CASE Mar. 18 The Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs annually will convene the CASE Award Committee, gives the charge, and the Committee will elect a chair.
   
T/P/CM Mar. 19 The President’s recommendations regarding Tenure and Promotion are presented for Regents’ approval.
   
Renewal: 3rd-Final Yr. Fac. Mar. 25 Deans make recommendations to the VPAA regarding the Renewal of Third through Final Year Probationary Faculty.
   
Post-Tenure Mar. 28 The VPAA will notify tenured faculty, who are due for Periodic Comprehensive Performance Evaluation, of intent to review during the next school year and of any additional materials required for submission as part of the review.
   
Dissertations Apr. 2 American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE) member institutions receive Outstanding Dissertations Competition 2009 announcements & guidelines; announcements posted on AAHHE and Educational Testing Service (ETS) websites.
   
Workloads & Level I Merit Apr. 9 The Dean files Faculty Workload and Development Plans with the VPAA and makes recommendations regarding Level I Merit .
   
Renewal: 3rd-Final Yr. Fac. Apr. 9 The VPAA makes recommendations to the President regarding the Renewal of Third through Final Year Probationary Faculty.
   
CASE Apr. 9 The CASE Award Committee will make a recommendation for CASE U.S.  Professor of the Year Award candidate to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.  
   
CASE Apr. 11 The VPAA will make recommendation to the President regarding nominee for CASE U.S. Professor of the Year Award.
   
Dissertations Apr. 13-May 8 Publicity for Outstanding Dissertations Competition 2009
   
CASE Apr. 18 The President sends candidate recommendation to CASE (by April 18th or postmark deadline).  The Vice President for Academic Affairs will notify nominees of decision.
   
Renewal: 3rd-Final Yr. Fac. Apr. 24 Third through Final Year Probationary Faculty are Notified of Renewal.
   
Chancellor's Apr. 25 Chancellor's Council Outstanding Teaching Excellence Award is presented to the recipient at the Distinguished Alumnus Reception.
   
CASE Apr. 25 CASE U.S. Professor of the Year Award nominee is recognized at the Distinguished Alumnus Reception.
   
T/P/CM May. 7 Faculty submit a letter of intent to apply for Tenure, Promotion, and Exceptional Merit to the Chair and Dean.
   
T/P/CM May. 8 Deans submit a list of faculty applying for Tenure, Promotion, and Exceptional Merit to the VPAA.
   
Level I Merit May. 7 The VPAA makes recommendations to the President regarding Level I Merit.
   
Dissertations Jun. 11 Faculty member submits six (6) copies of dissertation abstract to VPAA in format determined by Outstanding Dissertations Competition guidelines.  Note: Submission must include a letter, on university stationery, signed by the chair of the faculty's dissertation committee, indicating that the dissertation meets one of the eligibility criteria defined by the Outstanding Dissertations Competition guidelines.
   
Dissertations Jun. 17 The Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs convenes the Disserations Award Selection Committee, gives the charge, and the Committee will elect a chair.
   
Dissertations Jul. 25 The Dissertations Award Committee will make a recommendations for Outstanding Dissertations candidates to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.  
   
Dissertations Aug. 15 The VPAA will make recommendations to the President regarding nominees for the Outstanding Dissertations Competition.
   
Dissertations Sep. 10 President submits six (6) copies of dissertation abstracts to Chair of th AAHHE Outstanding Disserations Competition
   
Dissertations Sep. 15 Outstanding Dissertations Competition Chair distributes abstracts to Panel of Judges
